Positive Thoughts Stampin' Up! Card - Rubber Band Technique

I came across this amazing technique on YouTube by a Stampin' Up! demonstrator named Tina Zink. She was away from home and only had a few Stampin' Write markers, a stamp set, punch and a clear block - no ink pads. She needed to make a card, so she wrapped some rubber bands around a clear block and created a lovely strip down the front. Gorgeous!

It looked awesome and I had to try it out. The result...
I started by cutting a large Post-it note in half to mask the piece of Whisper White cardstock. I coloured the rubber bands with the Pear Pizzazz marker, spritzed it lightly with water and stamped it randomly. Then I did the same with the Early Espresso marker. After this was completely dry I put some Seaside Spray on a clear block, put a drop of Glycerine next to it and using a stamping sponge, carefully added this over the rubber band stamped images.
The fern and butterfly are from the Positive Thoughts stamp set, and the sentiment and extra stem (below the fern) came from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set.

I hope you're inspired to do something like it!

Note, the Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso markers are retired, but you could just use the classic ink pads.

Under My Umbrella Stampin' Up! Card

I took inspiration from the fantastic rain we had here on Saturday and created this card using the Under My Umbrella stamp set and matching Umbrella Builder punch from the 2020 Mini Catalogue .

While my garden was soaking up all the moisture, it was the perfect excuse for me to stay inside and create.
I started by ink blending some Pool Party Classic ink across the centre of the Whisper White card front using a make-up brush.
I tore the edge of the Pool Party paper along a steel ruler. Then I coloured the gum boots and flowers using a variety of Stampin' Blends combos. The flowers, from the Grace's Garden stamp set, just seemed perfect to complete the card.
The umbrellas were stamped and then punched out of the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper. I attached them with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I hope you like it!

Welcome Easter Stampin' Up! Card

I created a simple card using the Welcome Easter stamp set from the new 2020 Mini Catalogue.
It might seem a bit premature, but before we know it Easter will be here. This is for my 5 year old grandson.

I made it into a gate fold card for a bit of added interest. I coloured the bunny with Stampin' blends, mounted it onto a square and placed it onto the left hand side with Stampin' dimensionals.

Hope you like it! You can purchase any of the items I used by clicking on the images below.
