Calming Camellia Sale-A-Bration host set by Stampin' Up!®

Today's post again features the Calming Camellia host set from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. These two cards came about at a class I held to spotlight the versatility of the Calming Camellia set.

For the first card, we stamped onto basic white in the coordinating colour of the cardstock chosen - mine is Smoky Slate. I then put the Smoky Slate cardstock through the Bouquet of Love embossing folder. The basic white stamped piece is adhered to the card base, then the top layer was added using foam adhesive strips.

After cutting a number of different coloured card fronts, we were left with various gorgeous embossed hearts that were crying out to be used on another card. So I pulled out the Abstract Beauty 4x6" designer series paper to create the card below. This is such gorgeous paper and it was easy to pick something to coordinate with the Smoky Slate and Blushing Bride hearts. The addition of some gold foil behind the sentiment, and the gilded gems finished the card off nicely. The card front is mounted on Basic Gray, then a Basic White card base.

Calming Camellia Sale-A-Bration Host stamp set by Stampin' Up!®

Love this set, Calming Camellia! It is a host set from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. Calming Camellia is a Distinktive stamp set which produces the most beautiful images.

To create this card, I first stamped the leaf image around the edges of the card base using Evening Evergreen ink. I ran the piece of Soft Succulent cardstock through the Hammered Metal embossing folder and carefully ran my Craft White ink pad across the debossed side.

I stamped the leaf image onto basic white cardstock, tore the edge and mounted it onto the embossed piece. This was adhered to a piece of Soft Succulent shimmer vellum which I also tore across the bottom edge. The leaves behind the sentiment were cut from Forever Flourishing dies and the sentiment was cut using the Stitched So Sweetly die set. Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon completed the front.

I felt the inside of this card needed some decoration so again I stamped the leaf image and added a couple of the gorgeous scrolls.

I was inspired to make this card by Jacque Williams of StampHappyNZ so go check out her website to see her beautiful cards.

Please note that Sale-A-Bration has been extended in the South Pacific until 16 March because we were so badly affected by shipping delays.

Emboss resist technique with Pansy Patch Bundle by Stampin' Up!®

A week or two ago I took part in a six hour zoom event hosted by Kylie & Bruno Bertucci and Cheryll Miller. My card using the emboss resist technique and Pansy Patch bundle was designed by Cheryll Miller from Sense of Whimsy - thank you Cheryll for the tutorial.

The emboss resist technique is so effective. The pansies were stamped with Versamark, heat embossed with white and the inks were applied with sponge daubers. We used all the 2021-2023 In Color inks plus Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Blackberry Bliss.

The right-hand side panel was run through the Checks & Dots embossing folder and the colour was applied with a Blending Brush. The individual pansies and leaves on the front were die-cut with the coordinating Pansy dies.

To complete the look the 1/4" Bumblebee Gingham ribbon was tied around the front to cover the join between the two panels and some 2021-2023 In Color Jewels were added.

Such a vibrant fun card to make - I just love pansies, they are such happy flowers don't you think?

Sweet Conversations Bundle by Stampin' Up!®

I thought it would be appropriate around Valentine's Day to make a card using the Sweet Conversations Bundle. I stamped the hearts, masking the text in the middle of most of them, as I wanted to make the one small 'Luv U' heart the focus.

This card was inspired by Cheryll Miller from Sense of Whimsy here in Australia.

The suite comes with some really pretty designer series paper (DSP), and the inks I used for the hearts reflect some of the coordinating colours. For the focus heart I chose Polished Pink and the green is Just Jade.

The DSP has lots of hearts and stripes but as I don't have it, I picked the background paper for my card from the Hand-Penned 12x12" DSP. I stamped the black striped piece for additional interest. The thin strip separating the stripes from the plain white is Gorgeous Grape.

I hope you like my very simple card today, using only inks, stamps and paper.

Happy Valentine's Day 💕

Easy Z fold card | Pansy Petals meets Hand-Penned by Stampin' Up!®

If you’ve never made a Z fold card before, you are in for a treat because it is SO easy

All you have to do is cut a normal card base, which for me is 14.85 x 21cm. Score on the long edge at 10.5cm, then score the front flap at 5.25cm and fold it backwards as in the photo above.

This simple Z fold card features the Hand-Penned designer series paper attached across the inside, with a 3mm border top and bottom to show off the Highland Heather card base.

I cut two Basic White dies (the larger one for the inside to write on) and one Gorgeous Grape, from the Hippo & Friends dies. I fussy cut some of the purple pansies from the Petal Pansy designer series paper. I stamped the sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set using Blackberry Bliss ink and finished the card with Rhinestone basic jewels coloured with the dark Blackberry Bliss Stampin' blend.

Can you spot the tiny bumblebee from the Petal Pansy paper? So cute!

Flowering Tulips Bundle by Stampin' Up!®

Well, I did warn you I would be using this set more, and I'm not done yet. Here is another project which predominantly uses the Tulips dies from the Flowering Tulips bundle.

This project was made for the January 2022 SU Color Challenge. The colours specified were Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green. I decided to use the dies to create a field of tulips. For the background I used the Granny Apple Green cardstock and ran it through the Stitched Greenery die before swiping the piece with the White Craft ink pad. I staggered the layers of the tulips using the other 3 colours.

The sentiment is a partial stamping from the Flowering Tulips stamp set cut out with the Tailor Made Tags dies. I inked some greenery on the White 1.9cm Frayed Ribbon and set it behind the tag. Both were inked with Evening Evergreen to make it stand out. The bows were made from white twine, and I coloured the green using a Stampin' blend.

My style tends to be more subtle, but I like how this bright colour combo worked together.
