Positive Thoughts Stampin' Up! Card - Rubber Band Technique

I came across this amazing technique on YouTube by a Stampin' Up! demonstrator named Tina Zink. She was away from home and only had a few Stampin' Write markers, a stamp set, punch and a clear block - no ink pads. She needed to make a card, so she wrapped some rubber bands around a clear block and created a lovely strip down the front. Gorgeous!

It looked awesome and I had to try it out. The result...
I started by cutting a large Post-it note in half to mask the piece of Whisper White cardstock. I coloured the rubber bands with the Pear Pizzazz marker, spritzed it lightly with water and stamped it randomly. Then I did the same with the Early Espresso marker. After this was completely dry I put some Seaside Spray on a clear block, put a drop of Glycerine next to it and using a stamping sponge, carefully added this over the rubber band stamped images.
The fern and butterfly are from the Positive Thoughts stamp set, and the sentiment and extra stem (below the fern) came from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set.

I hope you're inspired to do something like it!
You can purchase any of the items I used by clicking on the images below.
Note, the Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso markers are retired, but you could just use the classic ink pads.

Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope to see you again soon.
